@aromes - scarpetta à new york c’est en effet un super restaurant, j’y ai mangé à plusieurs reprises et à chaque fois c’est un vrai bonheur ! les plats sont tellement simples et si parfaits
@TommyXT1956 - Tommy, try Moishes first. Then do whatever you feel like trying: Rib n Reef, Queue de Cheval, Gibby's and let me know what you think. It would be interesting to get your inputs. If you do so, send me your afterthoughts by email.
@aromes - i will be in montreal in may. steakhouse recommendations? queue de cheval?
@TommyXT1956 - I don't think he works there anymore. I presume you will be in Montreal for the F1 race in June?
Watching @guiderestosvoir - Wow, it is amazing how some #restaurants can excel when there is a camera in the house, Rfaol! And guess what, ....the #chef is always there when that happens. #surprise ,#foodie
@dairy_of_an_undecided_voter - Rfaol! You are still around. I remember that you were very active during the last US presidential campaign. So now you resurface ;p So still for Obama, again? ;p Le Tonkin, at the entrance of Lil'Italy in Montreal: Yep, more refined that its counterparts in town. If you like the rich, greasy version and rushed service, the happening is in Chinatown. But for me, Le Tonkin is the best of its kind in Montreal except that on Lunch...for some reason that I haven't been able to unveil...I suspect a problem of cook....they can't seem to rise at their best. At dinner time, they haven't disappoint yet. There is one on Decarie. I'll try to find the name and pass it on to you: very close to Le Tonkin's reliable and refined cuisine.
@aromes - I ate at the restaurant Tonkin. Now I Know Why You like itz Elegant Viet Food with Flare
@theSANIT78 - I saw your mail. He is not the only one to blame, trust me: I have experienced more asinine situations than this one! In an effortless asinine way, btw! Rfaol. The problem is that some are paranoid when things go right. It just can't happen...It has got to be fishy if it is right all the time, Rfaol! How many times did I have to remind people to sit down, relax and enjoy instead of rushing to find problems where there aren't. Lol. 'yeah'...someone once replied to me 'if it's too good, no one would believe it!'. C'mon..did I reply...you should care about your own enjoyment of things, not about what people think of your enjoyment...enjoy...when it's bad, you will know it anyway. No need to imagine the bad...you won't miss it when it crosses your way..Rfaol...'.
@aromes - Why does a beautiful cruise ship sink in the middle of a deep blue ocean? Answer: Because it is too stupid to realise it! Ya know what I am talkin' bout. I've sent you an email
As long as you know the limits of Lucca: sometimes very busy, casual atmosphere (laiback, but I love it), market cuisine (so they serve you what's fresh and judged best to be served). For ie, their lamb shank risotto I had few weeks ago is a benchmark one. But they can spend days, or weeks not serving it. Of course, what's the point of ordering a simple steak when you dine there? Go for any more elaborate / more Italian dishes (risottos, pastas). My love story for Lucca goes on (it can be pretty noisy/crowded sometimes): delicous food!
Finally found a place for St Valentine dinner: just came from another superb meal with my wife at Lucca on Dante. Wow, this is perhaps my 10th visit here in 3 yrs and not one single disappointment. Jannice, Italian herself and picky diner had also a huge smile from ear to ear upon completing this fantastic meal. I heard people saying that it used to be better, but who cares: food tastes great here! Everything on this evening was perfect. In Lucca, I trust!
@aromes - http://www.aucinquiemepeche.com/ Had an excellent meal there in October 11. I loved the small cozy ambiance, the friendly staff and the food is to die for. Really delicious food. Deserving of its accolades.
Codorniu Clasico Brut Cava is a HIT!!! Perfect for 2morrow's Valentine feast. Sadly, I have missed my Au Cinquième Péché Valentine's dinner booking (too late). But the party goes ON!
@theSANIT78 - I had friends in that area. Almost 2 decades later, I still have the stunning flavors of that food in mind. Some really have the touch ;p
@aromes - Riv des Pr? What the hell were you doing there?
